When we decided that we still weren’t ready to travel internationally yet, we had to postpone our Galapagos spring break trip yet again. We watched the covid situation closely and waited until about 3 weeks before to make the call so when we decided to cancel, we had to come up with a plan B quickly. We wanted to go somewhere within driving distance that would be warm, and Florida seemed like the obvious choice. Besides Disney and LegoLand, we had never really explored Florida. When we started researching, we were all over the place (literally) trying to decide where to go. East coast, gulf coast, Florida Keys. It all sounded fun and we couldn’t decide. So our solution was to do it all!
We planned a road trip covering almost 2,000 miles round trip going from Charlotte to Saint Augustine to the Keys to the Everglades to Bonita Springs and back. Phew! An exhausting trip for sure but a great way to get a taste of a lot of what Florida has to offer.
