Le Petit Hôtel

Le Petit Hôtel is a charming hotel in Old Montréal. Centrally located on St Paul Street in Old Montréal, the hotel is easy walking distance to almost everything in the city. Each of its 28 rooms are unique and has its own character from the different architectural features throughout the building.

The historic 19th century building was originally a warehouse and retail space for a leather business starting in the mid 1860s. Almost a century later in the late 1950s it was taken over by an importer of toys and decorative accessories, who occupied the space until 2005. In 2007 the property was purchased and renovated into a boutique hotel.

We arrived on the narrow street and pulled into the hotel’s parking spot directly across the street from the entrance. Someone came out immediately to valet park our car for us. We walked into the lobby, which is a cool space with stone walls and some comfy seating areas. And it doubles as a café that offers free coffee drinks to guests! I was immediately in love… free lattes all day long? I might never leave.

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. We checked into our room and headed upstairs. There was a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting for us with two wine glasses and a lovely note wishing us a happy anniversary. We really appreciated the thoughtful gesture.

Our room was really unique. With its cool vaulted ceilings and exposed brick wall, it felt like the room had been carved out of an attic nook. But it was bright and airy and had modern furniture. It was a great space.

Breakfast was included in our room rate. It was fairly basic – breads and fruit and hard boiled eggs – but great to not have to go out for breakfast every morning. Plus… did I mention free lattes?

We loved our stay at Le Petit Hôtel. The location in Old Montréal is convenient to sites, restaurants and shopping. The building retains its historic charm while providing modern amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
