Juneau was the second port on our Alaska cruise. The capital of Alaska, Juneau is surrounded by rugged mountains and is inaccessible by road. Everyone and everything arrives in Juneau by boat or plane.
We chose Juneau as our whale watching stop. Whale watching was high on our Alaska bucket list and Juneau was the best location for it on our itinerary. We also wanted to visit Mendenhall Glacier and hike to Nugget Falls. We were able to book a private tour for our group of 10 with Alaska Galore Tours to do both whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier.
